Coaches
Coach Paul Prioleau
Coach Prioleau comes to Coast with ten years of competitive rowing and five years of coaching experience. His background is varied, having rowed in high school, on the National and Olympic teams and in both sweep and sculling boats.
In high school, he rowed for Shawnigan Lake School, Canada. While there he was team captain, MVP, and won the National Championships. He went on to U.C. Berkeley (Cal) where he was team captain, MVP, and won a Pac-10 championship. After college, he was selected as a member of the US National Team that competed at the 1979 World Championships in Bled, Slovenia. In 1980 he was named to the US Olympic Team, rowing in Lucerne, Amsterdam, and Henley. Ultimately the U.S. boycott of those games kept the team from continuing on to Moscow. In 1984, he coached the Freshman crew at UC Berkeley to three successful seasons. He returned to coaching part time in 2003, coaching the Newport Aquatic Center Junior Crew for two years.

I want to provide the same benefit I received back East, to the local Southern California athletes as their prepare for their collegiate training and racing”.
Coach Chapman is committed to providing the very best training, racing, and technical development to the athletes of the Coast Crew Summer Camp.
